ALOHA ROTARACTORS,
We have some exciting updates and reminders to share. Firstly, this Sunday, December 8th, is the Honolulu Marathon! Sign up for this event has closed. Anyone who has signed up to volunteer for this event, please show up at the time of the shift you signed up for. T-shirts will be given upon check-in. Check-in for 4AM shift volunteers, please park your car at Planet Fitness and meet at Aloha Gas Station across Kilauea Ave. Volunteers with later shifts, please meet at the Bank of Hawaii at Kahala Mall for check-in. DO NOT walk towards the volunteer booths without a designated person from the check-in point. Please see the attached file, 2024 HNL MARATHON HANDOUT, for details on what to wear and what you can and should not bring. For any questions about this event, please contact Vicky or Nicole.
The season of giving is here! Our past treasurer, Keri, has submitted a request to post this wonderful opportunity to our calendars. The HOME Project Giving Tree is a wonderful chance to spread holiday cheer to those in need. Gifts must be dropped off at the John A. Burns School of Medicine (651 Ilalo Street, Honolulu) under the “Giving Tree” by Wednesday, December 11, 2024. If you plan on dropping off a gift or making a donation, please let us know so that we can recognize your participation. For more information please look down below in the Upcoming Events section.
For the past few years, our club has been volunteering at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp. It is open to all local public, private, and home-schooled students and offers participants the chance to build leadership skills, make new friends, and engage in outdoor activities through hands-on games and presentations. Volunteers are crucial to making this event a success! Last year, six Rotaractors joined the fun, gaining as much from the experience as the students. From leadership growth to hilarious stories around the campfire, it’s a weekend to remember! If you know a high school student that would like to attend, have them register HERE! And if you’d like to volunteer, please register HERE. For more information, please visit https://www.rylahawaii.org/, text Nicole, or email us.
Club member t-shirts are ready to be picked up! Please reach out to your club officers to arrange for pickup.
If you have any social events or projects you’d like to post up on our calendars, feel free to drop an email to our board ([email protected]) for review.
Thank you for your ongoing dedication to service and fellowship. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or for further details.
