Annual Ehime Maru Memorial Cleanup: A Tribute to International Relations

June 15, 2024 – Honolulu, Hawaii – This past Saturday, the Rotary Club of Pearl Harbor led the annual Ehime Maru Memorial Cleanup at Kakaako Waterfront Park. The event, a multi-club initiative, brought together 19 dedicated volunteers, including members from the Boy Scout Troop 97 and the Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor.
The day began with a park cleanup, followed by a ceremonial washing of the Ehime Maru Memorial. Steve Dyer shared a poignant recount of the tragic incident and the subsequent recovery efforts, highlighting the importance of international relations. 
This event, supported by the Pearl Harbor Rotary Club, emphasized the ongoing commitment to community service and remembrance. As the event continues to grow each year, it serves as a powerful reminder of the value of international cooperation and understanding.
