Hope everyone had a fun Fourth of July! August is here and we get to celebrate smaller and not-so important holidays such as International Beer Day (Today), National Watermelon Day (August 3rd), and my favorite, National Dog Day (August 26th). It looks like a fun month to me.
Please note that the Aloha Animal Sanctuary event is postponed for this month. Although it was our only event we were planning for August, we have a couple of new service events to share with you all so your August calendar is not empty of service opportunities. The Back to School Bash with the Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor and KMS ‘Ohana Night with the Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu are great opportunities to help get our local keiki ready for school. For more details, check out the Upcoming Events section below in this email. Go support our keiki!

As of July 1, 2024, our membership fee is $30 and will include a RECO T-shirt. Any returning member will have an annual membership fee of $15, while new members will have an annual membership fee of $30. Note that all membership fees will last you one full year from the day you pay. This means that if you join/pay on Sept. 1, we won’t ask for a payment from you again until the following Sept. 1. Back to School Bash with RCHPH
Saturday, August 3rd @ 3:30PM – 6:30PM|| Makalapa Neighborhood Park, Aiea
Come join us and the Rotary Club of Hickam Pearl Harbor at Makalapa Park for a fun night where you can cut your hair, play games, take home a plant, or help the keiki get ready for school. RCHPH will be setting up at 3:30PM and the event will start at 4:00PM.

KMS Ohana Night with RCDH
Wednesday, August 21st @ 5:30PM – 7:15PM|| Ke’elikolani Middle School, Honolulu
Our club sponsor, Rotary Club of Downtown Honolulu helps Ke’elikolani Middle School with their Ohana Night. If you want to donate any unused or refurbished items (household goods, items, and/or foods) for evening raffles that would be greatly appreciated. RCDH and KMS Principal Joe will be raffling off the items.

Aloha Animal Sanctuary
Unfortunately, we do not have a designated day to help the animals. We are going to contact Aloha Animal Sanctuary to confirm a day to volunteer. Once we hear back from them, we will send out an email with more details.
