James moved to Hawaii in 1989 where he matriculated two graduate degrees from Hawaii Pacific University- a Masters of Science in Information Systems and a Masters of Business Administration. He is IBM’s Senior State Executive in Hawaii and responsible for IBM Technology Zone- a global hybrid cloud infrastructure supporting IBM’s worldwide technical go-to-market teams and partner ecosystem.
James has other business interests and, as a licensed captain, runs fishing charters out of Kewalo Basin on Whipsaw Sportfishing. He also has a social media company- Social Strategy Pros assisting small businesses with their social engagement strategies.
He is a long time Rotarian moving over from the Rotary Club of Honolulu where he served as Director of Youth Services. He is the President and Founder of Fund a Future, Inc., a small non-profit focused on serving underprivileged youth.
In his copious amounts of free time, he enjoys surfing, spearfishing, and sailing. He resides in Pauoa Valley with his wife Linda, his youngest daughter Faith, two dogs- Adobo and Ponzu, and four koi. He also has an older daughter and two grandchildren that live in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
